Trip cost

Tezser is a carpooling (ride-sharing) service. The Passenger reimburses the Driver for part of the trip expenses (the “cost-share”), while the Platform charges the Passenger a Service fee for information and technology services. The cost-share is due to the Driver in full — the Platform withholds nothing from it. There is no fixed price list (tariff).

How the cost is calculated

The cost-share amount is calculated automatically based on the route distance between the pick-up and drop-off points and on the areas that route runs through: a driver’s expenses inside the city and beyond it genuinely differ, so kilometres travelled in different zones are counted at different rates. The total amount payable — the cost-share plus the Service fee — is shown in the Tezser mobile app with the fee itemized separately: when searching for a ride companion, first as a preliminary estimate; when booking a scheduled trip, as the exact amount before it is confirmed. The total amount depends on the length of the specific trip and on its geography.

The driver’s price

The amount calculated this way is a recommendation. The driver may change the price per seat for their whole route: lower it by up to half or raise it by no more than 20% of the recommended amount. A Passenger who rides only part of the route contributes the corresponding share of the driver’s price. In every case the amount payable is shown in the app before the booking is confirmed.

Service fee

For using the Platform (matching co-travellers and arranging the trip) a Service fee of 15% of the cost-share amount is charged; the Service fee so calculated is rounded to a whole tenge. The Service fee is paid by the Passenger on top of the cost-share: the Platform withholds nothing from the amount due to the Driver. For example, with a cost-share of 500 ₸ the Service fee is 75 ₸, the amount payable is 575 ₸, and the Driver receives 500 ₸. The Service fee is a payment for the Platform’s information services, not a payment for transportation and not a “tariff”.

Payment

Payment is made cashless — by bank card. Payment and card-data processing is carried out by a licensed payment service provider; the Platform does not store full bank card data.

Where to see the exact amount

The total amount payable for a specific trip (the cost-share plus the Service fee) is shown in the Tezser mobile app as separate line items. The terms and cost of a paid Subscription (if any) are communicated to the User on the Platform before payment.
